Clubs Radar helps you find shooting-sports clubs and the events they run. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and who else sees it. It covers the Clubs Radar website and the Clubs Radar mobile app.

What we collect

  • Your account. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
  • What you do in the app. Events you RSVP to or save, clubs you follow or join, tickets you buy, volunteer jobs you take on, and attendance recorded at an event you attended.
  • Location. If you allow it, the app uses your device location to sort clubs and events by distance and to centre the map. It is used to answer the request you made and is not stored as a location history. You can refuse it and still browse everything by searching or panning the map.
  • Photos you choose. If you manage a club, images you pick from your photo library for a logo, cover or gallery. The app reads only the images you select.
  • A connected Google Calendar. If you manage a club and connect one, the entries on the calendars you pick, and you can pick more than one: their titles, descriptions, locations, dates and times. We do not read or store the guest list on an entry.
  • Payments. Card details are entered into Stripe and go to Stripe, not to us. We keep a record of what you bought, the amount, and the card brand and last four digits so you can recognise a saved card.
  • Search queries. The text you type into search, so results can be cached and returned faster.
  • Push notifications. If you turn them on, a device token issued by Apple or Google that lets us send a notification to that device. Turning notifications off removes it.

What we do with it

We use it to run the service: show you events near you, take your RSVP, sell you a ticket, let a club you have joined see that you are coming, and notify you about something you asked to be notified about. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Who else sees it

Clubs see what they need to run their events. When you RSVP to an event or buy a ticket, the club hosting it sees your name, your email address and your booking. If you join a club as a member, that club sees your membership and your volunteering record with them. One club cannot see your activity with another.

These companies process data on our behalf:

  • Stripe — payments, payouts to clubs, and refunds.
  • Neon — the database.
  • Vercel — hosting, and image storage.
  • Upstash — caching.
  • OpenRouter and OpenAI — interpreting search queries. Only the query text is sent.
  • Resend — sending email such as club invitations.
  • Expo, Apple and Google — delivering push notifications.
  • Google Maps — the map on Android. On iOS the app uses Apple Maps.

We also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people using the service.

Google Calendar

A club manager can connect a Google account and choose which of its calendars the club uses, so the club's events stay in step in both directions. A season often runs across several calendars, so you can pick more than one. Connecting is optional, it is done by a manager for their club, and nobody else is asked for calendar access.

When you connect, we ask Google for two permissions and use them like this:

  • See and download your calendars is used for one thing only — listing your calendars so you can choose which of them to sync. Without it we would have to assume your main calendar, which would pull your personal appointments into a public club listing.
  • View and edit events is used only on the calendars you chose. We read their entries so you can turn them into Clubs Radar events. We write back to one calendar only, the one you nominate for it. Events you create here appear on that calendar and on no other. We ask Google to tell us when something changes, rather than repeatedly reading your calendars ourselves.

We store the entries we read — titles, descriptions, locations, dates and times — and the access Google gives us, which is encrypted at rest. When we edit an entry we change only the fields the event owns, so anything else on it, including its guest list, is left untouched. We never create, rename or delete a calendar.

This data is used solely to provide calendar sync to the club that connected it. It is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to train AI or machine-learning models, and not shared with anyone beyond the processors listed above who host it.

A manager can disconnect at any time from the club's events dashboard. We revoke the access with Google immediately and stop syncing. You can also remove it yourself at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Clubs Radar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it

We keep your account for as long as it exists. Records tied to money, such as ticket purchases and payouts, are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is generally seven years. Cached search results expire on their own.

Your choices

  • Delete your account. Ask us and we will delete it, along with your RSVPs and profile. Records of completed purchases are kept where the law requires, and are no longer linked to a usable account.
  • Get a copy of your data, or ask us to correct something that is wrong.
  • Location and notifications are controlled in your device settings and can be withdrawn at any time without losing access to the app.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act. Ask us and we will honour them.

Children

Clubs Radar is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Younger shooters attend club events with a parent or guardian, whose account is the one that books.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
